Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Rule for Farms
The Environmental Protection Agency’s “Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Rule” has been amended in 2009 to include Farm operations. The SPCC rule applies to bulk storage of petroleum related products.
EPA defines a farm as “a facility on a tract of land devoted to the production of crops or raising of animals, including fish, which produces and sells $1,000 or more of agricultural products during the year.”
If you have over 1,320 but not more than 10,000 gallons of aggregate aboveground storage capacity, you must develop and implement an SPCC plan by November 20, 2013.
